I have to hold my hands up and confess: I am a huge fan of online dating! I was incredibly lucky to have met my wonderful partner whilst online dating but the question is: why are more of us turning to virtually meeting people instead of waiting for that turn of fate?
For a few of us, we are doing this for the first time in a good while so dating can be a very daunting task, therefore going online seeming to be more appealing. You can start off having initial conversations and if you feel that it is legit, then you can take the next step and actually meet them face to face.
Online dating is also very convenient. In the past, you either met someone through a friend, bumped into them or met them at your work place. Nowadays, you can take your pick through endless amounts of males and females, all looking for that special person.
If you aren’t the most confident person then online dating is perfect. You can build your confidence while chatting to someone before you build up the courage to physically meet them.

“I suppose really there are lots of views regarding online dating whether you are young or mature.
For an over 40 female I guess it would be an easy option.”
“It depends on whether this was for a serious relationship, after a marriage breakup or for just a friend to share days with. Sometimes for even the most outgoing person, meeting someone can be daunting. If you are set in a routine of daily activities you only meet the same people, going somewhere different can be an anxious time.”
“Meeting someone on line can give you the freedom to look, chat, vet and create a rapport before having to commit to meeting them. Although everyone can put up a façade, hopefully the people you chat to are there for the same reason.”
“A dating service holds so much information on so many people; you can sit in the comfort of your own home and search for your perfect partner.”
